The
Pony Division is under the jurisdiction of the main Board of
Directors of Fremont Baseball, Inc. “Pony Baseball, Rules
and Regulations” govern play. These rules contain only
those exceptions voted on by Fremont Baseball, Inc. to better
provide for the well being of our local players. All rules
and Amendments are subject to board interpretation. Rules not
covered
in this book will be decided by the Board of Directors based
on the spirit of the game and the best interest of Fremont
Baseball Incorporated.
1) Pony division play is for 13 and 14 year old players only.
They must be this age by July 31 of the current season.
2) Pitching
Distance is 54 feet, with an 80-foot base path.
3) Players
declining to play with a team. In the Pony Division
if a player does not want to play for the team from which
he or she played last year that player must return to the draft!
The
team that he left may not pick the player in the draft.
He will participate in the tryouts to give all managers a chance
to evaluate
the player.
4) Player
Options or Coaches Options. A player or coaches option will not
be allowed if the player has played
for a Pony
Division
team the previous year. See rule 1.
The only exception is:
-
A) Is if a players parent or guardian is going to manage
that team.
-
B) If the parent was a coach the previous year, the child
must play on last years team or go to the draft only.
-
C) If the
players parent was not an active coach a team may exercise a
player option but it must
be agreed
upon
by both
managers.
The players parent that is listed as a coach
must be an active coach.
Exercising a coaches option just to get a player
on your team will not be allowed.
5) Trades
within the
Pony Division.
If
by agreement
of the players and both managers a trade may
take place. All details of the trade
must be outlined in a letter to the board.
The Division representative will present this to
the Board for
final approval.
6) Recruiting
within the division. Recruiting within FBI
Pony Division "other teams" is
not allowed.
7) Repercussions
of violation of rule #4. If any managers or coaches are found
to be
in violation of this rule
they may be
suspended
for a game or lose their first round draft
choice
or their highest round draft pick. Subject
to the approval
of the Board
of Directors.
8)
Bronco to Pony Farm Linkage. Refer to the
Farm linkage document for team farm affiliation.
9)
Coaches. Only
coaches and players
are allowed in the dugout- NO EXCEPTIONS.
10)
Player must be signed up. A copy of
the registration and
birth certificate must be on file,
along with payment to
be received
before participation in activities.
Substitutions:
1) All players
must be officially entered in the game prior to the start of
the (4th) inning.
2)
A player
has to
play twelve (12) consecutive outs and bat once.
If a starting player is taken out of the game, he
may go back in the game but he has to go back in the same
spot
in the batting
order that he came out of. The original substitute
must have completed
all minimum play requirements. A starter must fulfill
his/her minimum play requirement before leaving the
game (except
in case of injury).
Lineup
Cards and Scorebooks:
1)
All managers must insure that lineup cards are filled out completely
specifying the following: All players on active team rosters
specifying any player who is absent or reason not eligible
to
play. All pitchers
names, date and how many innings last pitched and eligible
for game. All managers are required to insure that each game
proceedings
are accurately represented in the team scorebook. Any manager
has the right to inspect the opposing team managers’ scorebook
to verify pitching eligibility. All pitching changes and any
changes to the lineup must be reported to the home plate umpire
and home
team scorekeeper.Pitching:1) A pitcher can only pitch ten (10)
innings in a calendar week. If a pitcher pitches four or more
innings in one day, he has to
have forty hours rest before he can pitch again. Please refer
to the Pony rules for any further clarification.
2) There will
be no
pitch count limitations, however it is highly recommended for
team manager to manage pitch count.Conduct on the
Field:1) All managers are responsible for the conduct of their
players, coaches and fans. Any misconduct by players, coaches
or fans that
requires the umpire to eject them from the game will result
in the manager being suspended for one game and players or fans
two games. If a manager is ejected for his own misconduct,
he
will
be suspended for the next game also. All incidents will be
subject to Board review.Examples for Ejection:
A. Swearing
B. Throwing equipment
C. Fighting
D. Trying to hurt another player
E. Unsportsmanlike conduct
Rules Governing
Starts and Play:
1) Weekday
games start at 5:30 PM.
2) Must have
9 starters 15 min. after scheduled
start.
3) Teams must
have 9 players to start game. They may play with 8 after the
first pitch.
4) There will
be no time limits on
any games.
