  • Shetland Division Rep: Jeff Cook
  • Shetland Division is for players aged 3 to 6 years old with no prior baseball experience or returning players who prefer to continue with a highly introductory level of play. Players learn the fundamentals of baseball. Players use a softer than usual baseball and start the season by hitting from a Batting-Tee and end the season with Machine and Coach Pitch. The diamond is 50 feet, and flexible rules expedite play. Play consists of three innings in which all team members bat and play the field each inning. No game score or standings are kept. When possible, players are assigned to teams with their schoolmates. The regular season includes games with teams from within the same division. Each player receives a baseball jersey, a hat, a photosheet with individual & team photos, and a trophy.
  • Fremont Baseball Inc, is excited to announce that we now have a specialized Shetland 4U program for T-Ball opened to all youth ages 3-4!  This is in addition to our Shetland 6U program (Ages 5-6).
    • Shetland 4U will target players who have no baseball experience and will teach players ages 3-4 the basic fundamentals. All kids will start on the batting Tee and will gradually move up to a coach pitch. The cost for Shetland 4U program, which includes the Jersey and Hat, is $70 plus a $130 fundraising requirement.
    • Shetland 6U players will play a more competitive game while learning the fundamentals of baseball and have a chance to go to the PONY sectionals. These players start on coach pitch and will gradually advance to machine pitch. The 6U program is for a more advanced player to get ready for the Pinto age group. The cost, which includes Jersey and Hat, is $90 plus a $130 fundraising requirement.
